The Aether is a fully functional, all-electric concept car designed and built using sustainable, large-scale 3D printing methods. Developed by SCAD’s industrial design team and led by former Lamborghini designer Rafael Corazza Ronchetti, the vehicle draws inspiration from classic Ferrari and Porsche models while targeting a new generation of drivers. In collaboration with hatch X, the team used Massivit’s gel-based 3D printing technology to rapidly fabricate full-size car panels, minimizing material waste and eliminating the need for assembly from smaller parts. The result is a sleek, AI-enhanced EV with transparent paneling and a design-forward approach, which debuted at the 2024 Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.
