What is Hatch X?
frequently
asked
Hatch X is an experiential design + precision fabrication studio that turns bold ideas into real-world environments—concept to install, all under one roof.
Why the name change from Hatch Exhibits to Hatch X?
We’ve expanded beyond exhibits into immersive environments, sculpture, and complex buildouts. “X” reflects how we solve for X—the variables between vision and reality.
How do we start a project with you?
Email a brief (goals, timeline, budget range, site info) and any drawings or references. We’ll schedule a discovery call, align on scope, then provide a phased proposal.
Do you work with agencies, architects, or GCs?
Absolutely. We partner seamlessly as design-assist, design-build, or fabrication-only—and can white-label when needed.
What do you build?
Immersive environments, brand activations, museum/cultural exhibits, public art/sculpture, custom signage, retail pop-ups, feature walls, and specialty fixtures. Anything you can imagine.
What’s in-house?
CNC routing, laser cutting, laser welding, traditional welding, fiber laser, metalwork, 3D printing/prototyping, large-format printing, lamination, vinyl graphics, fabric printing & SEG, custom millwork, paint/finishing, polyurea coatings, lighting integration, robotic arm station, fabrication and assembly—all under one roof.
Can you prototype?
Yes—rapid prototypes and mockups to validate scale, materials, and interactions before full production. Along with any prototype or model needed for any size project.
What’s your process?
Each job is unique and requires custom planning but, generally start with ideation and strategy, continue with planning, design, fabrication and installation. You can engage at any step.
Can you work from our designs?
Yes. We can fabricate directly from your drawings or provide design-assist to engineer for buildability and budget.
Do you ship and install nationwide?
Yes—crating, freight, and on-site install are part of our typical scopes. International installs are case-by-case.
What does “solve for X” mean to you?
Every brief has variables—site, timeline, budget, materials. We treat X as the challenge to answer with design, engineering, and craft.
How does Magma Build Studios fit in?
Magma Build Studios is now part of Hatch X, enhancing our bench in architectural finishes, custom metalwork, luxury lighting, and sculptural fabrication.
